The Athens Middle School FFA chapter toured the Barefoot Pellet Company Mill today!

The 23 students learned about the innovative process of transforming a natural byproduct—sawdust—into valuable fuel. They saw firsthand how we use leftover sawdust from our lumber and flooring operations to create high-quality hardwood heating pellets and BBQ pellets.

This visit truly drove home the message that we do not waste any part of the tree: logs become lumber, bark becomes mulch, and all the sawdust gets converted into blocks and pellets! Thank you to the FFA students for their respectful visit and engaging questions.
